About Me |

This is my 'original' train -vane. |
My name is Dick Kramer.
Professionally I was a Mechanical Designer, retired from Exhibit Design,
General Motors (Michigan), after 26 years of service. For several years my wife
and I owned a small farm in the South Lyon, MI area, where we raised Lippitt
Morgan horses. Even though we both lived in Michigan most of our lives, we
found the winters increasingly more intolerable so we decided in 1999 to
bring three of our prized mares to a small farm outside of Ocala, Florida.
I came out of retirement to work with Russ Hardwick (Hardwick Hideout) building horse drawn competitive vehicles. We enjoyed many drives with Russ and Eva Hardwick in the Ocala National Forest, but decided a few years ago to sell our farm and horses, and move to a +55 Active Adult community in Ocala. Life changes but the desire to keep busy hasn't. I enjoy designing model buildings and train layouts with other members of the Ocala Model Railroaders Historic Preservation Society. We sponsor shows, donate layouts to worthy causes, share ideas, and of course, welcome new-comers and others who share our interest in trains. |
